Before you choose an opener, you will need to determine a few things:
Door size
The height, width, thickness and construction (steel, insulted, wood) of your garage door is important because it will determine how large of a motor you may need as well as the type of drive (chain, belt, jackshaft) required to lift the door.
Headroom
How much room you have above the door (chain, belt drive), or beside the door (jackshaft opener), which will help decide where you can mount the opener. There is actually alot of math that goes into determining which door and opener will best fit your garage.
Location
Where your garage is located in relation to the rooms in your home will determine whether you choose a more budget friendly, albeit it louder opener vs. a whisper quiet but more costly option.
Budget
Garage door openers range in cost quite a bit, with chain belt drives being the least expensive option, and jack drive openers being the most costly. Determining what your budget is will help you pick an opener that suits your needs and doesn't break the bank.
This can be alot to figure out, and if you are feeling overwhelmed just give us a call at Level Up Doors and we will help you find the door that best suits your needs!
